Rainier Beach United Methodist Church is a growing community of faith in Seattle, Washington. A Reconciling congregation, Rainier Beach wanted to expand their welcome to all programs at their church, and worked to charter a fully-inclusive Boy Scout troop. Recently, Rainier Beach UMC has become the epicenter of work to broaden the BSA's inclusiveness by welcoming openly gay Scoutmaster, Geoff McGrath, into troop leadership. When McGrath spoke to media about his sexual orientation, the Chief Seattle Council of the Boy Scouts of America rescinded his membership. Rainier Beach UMC is the charter organization for Troop 98 and has committed to standing with Geoff and Troop 98.

The Methodist Federation for Social Action wants to share some love with RBUMC, Geoff, and Troop 98. Here's how you can participate:

1) Print off one of these great signs you see below. Take your photo – or your Sunday school class's photo – or your congregation's photo. Then,

2) Tweet it with this message: I/We #standwithGeoff and the #BoyScouts of Troop 98! (insert photo) @SeattleBSA @Scouts4Equality @rmnetwork @MFSAVoices @rbumc

3) If you aren't on twitter, that's OK, you can email your photo to photos@mfsaweb.org and we'll tweet them for you!
