As a chapter our emphasis and actions reflect the national priorities of MFSA: peace, poverty, people’s rights and progressive initiatives though we also work on issues specific to our local communities, state and annual conference.  The Baltimore-Washington Chapter is focusing on immigration issues this year.  We visited at the Day Laborer Center in Gaithersburg, MD this spring.  Our next event will be a showing and discussion of the movie, "Made in LA" on Saturday, September 19 at Hughes United Methodist Church, 10700 Georgia Ave., Wheaton, MD.  A covered dish supper, beginning at 6:30 p.m., precedes the movie screening.

We invite you to join with us as people of faith on this journey of justice. Please contact us through the National Office of MFSA at mfsa@mfsaweb.org and begin receiving our E-Newsletter with current chapter information.

Baltimore-Washington Annual Conference 2009

Over 100 people gathered at a Baltimore-Washington Annual Conference for a lunch co-sponsored by BWARM (Baltimore Washington Reconciling Movement) and MFSA.  Our guest speaker was Bishop Melvin G. Talbert and we presented  our annual “God’s Foolish One Award” award to Rev. Mary Kraus.  Pictured with Mary are Rev. Rachel Cornwell and Rev. Ken Hawes, MFSA co-conveners.
