Deaconess Megan Hale
Deaconess Megan Hale (she/her/hers) is a member of the New York annual conference and has been a part of the MFSA steering committee of the New York Chapter since moving to NY in 2018. She was consecrated as a deaconess in the United Methodist Church in 2014. In her deaconess training, she learned from Rev. Dr. George McClain, one of her professors, of the powerful witness and history of MFSA and the social gospel movement. Before moving to the Northeast, Megan lived in Texas and was a member of the Central Texas Conference where she was the chair of the Reconciling Ministries Team and a founding member and chair of Advocates for Social Justice of her home church in Arlington, TX. She graduated from Texas Tech University in 2005 with a degree in Multidisciplinary Studies. Megan a member of the Church of St. Paul and St. Andrew in Manhattan, and is working towards a Master of Art in Theology and Ministry at Drew Theological Seminary with a Social Justice Advocacy focus.
