A New Congress, A New Administration: New Opportunities for Palestinian Rights
As a new Congress takes their seats in early January, and as Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are inaugurated later in the month, MFSA and UMKR offer this webinar to help us better understand what we might expect from the new Congress and new Administration related to Palestinian rights. Who will the key players be in Congress? What legislation might come forward? How do we best advocate for Palestine with Congress and in our own locales? What strategies can we use to deepen our influence in D.C.?
Hear from Kyle Cristofalo, Senior Director of Advocacy and Government Relations for Churches for Middle East Peace and Mark Harrison, Director of the Peace with Justice Program for the United Methodist General Board of Church and Society in Washington, D.C.
Resources Shared on the Call:
The Most Effective thing to do is to lobby you representatives and senators
Trips to Israel take place int he first year congresspeople are elected, so it’s important to lobby your newly elected leaders to visit Palestine and talk with Palestinians while they are on the trip, not as a check-off to say that they did but to really hear from and listen to the people.
